About AI Anonymous
AI Anonymous publishes two free, anonymous self-assessments and a library of guides on what heavy AI use does to thinking, skills and careers. The anonymity in the name is yours, not ours. You never have to give an email or a name to see your result.
Who writes this
This site has one editor, and I write it. I build and run the automation behind a set of small businesses: publishing pipelines, content systems, email sequences that go out on schedule without anyone pressing send. Most of my working week goes into designing things that hand work a person used to do over to a machine.
That is also where this site came from. Building those systems put me close enough to notice the pull. There is a small moment, before any real thought happens, where reaching for a model is easier than starting the task yourself. I watch for it in my own week. When I went looking for a straight answer about what that habit costs, most of what I found was either alarmist or selling something, so we built the assessments instead.
I write about careers here for the same reason. The systems I build are the ones quietly absorbing pieces of other people's jobs, which is an uncomfortable place to write from and also a useful one.
Clinical review: none. The mental-health guides on this site are journalism, and they are not care. Every one of them says so on the page and keeps crisis resources visible. If that ever changes, a named reviewer with real credentials will appear here, and until then no page on this site claims to have been reviewed by a clinician.
How we work
Every factual claim links to its primary source. Where a study is named, the link goes to the study itself, not to somebody's write-up of it. Untraceable statistics get cut. That rule has cost us a few good lines. The full method is on our editorial standards page.
Both self-assessments are adapted from published research instruments. The AI Addiction Scale (AIAS-21) and the Conversational AI Dependence Scale (CAIDS-20). They are reflection tools. No result is a diagnosis, and nothing you answer is stored against your identity.
AI Anonymous is operated by Five Explorers Press, LLC. Some links here are affiliate links. Where they are, we mark them and say so on the page itself, not just in a footer. See our affiliate disclosure. We do not take payment to recommend a mental-health service.
Corrections, questions and source challenges are welcome: contact us. If we get something wrong we correct it on the page and say what changed.
